Leary Leads the Way in Sponsorless Non-Wing Sprint Car Power Rankings!

Lonnie Wheatley, BROKEN ARROW, Okla. (May 9, 2023) – After topping the unsponsored Non-Wing Sprint Car Power Rankings for the second time in 2022, C.J. Leary once again occupies the top spot at this early juncture of the 2023 season.

C.J. Leary topped the second leg of this past weekend’s #LetsRaceTwo USAC Sprint Car event at Eldora Speedway to run his season win total to three after a previous USAC triumph at Bloomington Speedway as well as a weekly win at Lincoln Park Speedway.

Following Saturday’s Eldora victory, Leary holds the lead by 13 points over Justin Grant.  Grant added his third win of the season as well on Friday night before getting caught up in a lapped traffic melee on Saturday.

Emerson Axsom is another eight points back in third with Brady Bacon in fourth after topping the Non-Wing Sprint Car Power Rankings in both 2020 and 2021.

Jake Swanson rounds out the current top five after ranking fifth last year with Kevin Thomas, Jr., USAC/CRA points leader Brody Roa, Kyle Cummins, Chase Stockon and Lincoln Park Speedway points leader Tye Mihocko filling out the current top ten.

The Non-Wing Sprint Car Power Rankings are a part of the Open Wheel Power Rankings that also includes STIDA Winged 410 Sprint Cars, Rod End Supply Winged 360 Sprint Cars and Midgets.

Title sponsorship to continue the Non-Wing Sprint Car Power Rankings for 2023 is necessary.  Anyone interested in doing so may contact lonniewheatley@gmail.com.  If no title sponsor is obtained, there will be just one more update later this month with no further updates until final rankings at the end of the year.

Separated into Non-Wing 410 and Non-Wing 360 Power Rankings through 2018, those were consolidated into a single Non-Wing Sprint Car Power Ranking for 2019 and beyond with all Non-Wing 410 and injected Non-Wing 360 events included in the Rankings.
