The Weekend Ahead – March 24-26

Lonnie Wheatley, BROKEN ARROW, Okla. (March 23, 2023) – After just four events were logged into the books last weekend, a busier slate on tap for the upcoming weekend.

Among the weekend headliners is the Outlaws going down south, Midgets taking on a challenge, a money event for the non-wingers and Cali’s top 360 series kicks off.

While last weekend was billed Outlaws vs. Posse, neither took the win as Rico Abreu scored Saturday’s win at Lincoln Speedway after Friday’s Williams Grove card fell victim to weather.  This weekend, WoO heads south to Alabama and Mississippi with David Gravel holding a slim lead over Carson Macedo and Logan Schuchart in the points race.

The POWRi National Midget League kicks off the 2023 campaign with the annual Turnpike Challenge in Oklahoma that is reduced to two Port City nights on Friday and Saturday after delayed track updates at Creek County nixed the Thursday night go.  Christopher Bell and Buddy Kofoid topped last year’s Turnpike Challenge events.

After topping last weekend’s Placerville Speedway season opener, Justin Sanders tries to top his second SCCT opener this Saturday at the same facility.

Brownstown Speedway hosts the Spring Meltdown on Saturday, offering up a $10,000 winner’s share for the 410-ci Non-Wingers.

A possible Posse triple pending weather is on deck with Williams Grove, Lincoln and Port Royal preceding Sunday’s BAPS opner.

As always, check with the track via social media or the old-fashioned phone before making the trek to make sure that all things are still a go.
