Quick Time for Gennetten!  And then the Rain…

Lonnie Wheatley, ELDON, Mo. (July 3, 2022) – After a Saturday night rainout, Lake Ozark Speedway made a run at the second POWRi 410-ci Sprint Car event on Sunday night.

But, following qualifying action for the Prelude to the All Stars card, rain began to fall as the OCRS Sprint Cars hot lapped atop the 1/3-mile clay oval.

And what initially seemed to be a small cell of rain activity continued to expand over the racetrack, ultimately forcing the cancellation of the rest of the program.

Before the rains hit, Verailles’ Ayrton Gennetten topped the speed charts in single-car qualifying with a lap 11.813 seconds, edging Oklahoma resident Roger Crockett by just .009 seconds for the quick time with Illinois’ Jake Neuman, Texas’ Kyle Jones and Nixa’s Kyle Bellm also among the top five.

The event is expected to be rescheduled for a future date according to series officials.
