Lonnie Wheatley, BROKEN ARROW, Okla. (June 28, 2022) – The battle for the top spot in the Non-Wing Sprint Car Power Rankings gets tighter and tighter with each passing weekend.
While C.J. Leary continues to hold the top ranking, the trio of Justin Grant, Brady Bacon and Robert Ballou are all within 17 points with Jake Swanson and Emerson Axsom within striking distance as well.
Leary’s lead is down to just 12 points over Grant with Bacon just another two points back in third and Ballou three more points back in fourth after Sunday’s USAC score at Angell Park.
Swanson rounds out the current top five with Axsom in sixth, just 37 points off of Leary’s pace. Chase Stockon sits seventh while Logan Seavey makes a jump from 15th to eighth after claiming USAC’s Eastern Storm title. Matt Westfall moves into the top ten as well in ninth with Thomas Meseraull filling out the top ten.
A pair of pivotal weekends are on tap for the Non-Wing ranks including this weekend’s USAC/MSCS double at Lincoln Park Speedway and then next weekend’s three-night USAC Nationals at Huset’s Speedway.
