Cannon McIntosh Fires into Midget Power Rankings Lead!

Lonnie Wheatley, BROKEN ARROW, Okla. (June 27, 2022) – Cannon McIntosh has had the hot hand in Midget racing as of late, hot enough to move to the top rung of the Midget Power Rankings.

After topping USAC’s Indiana Midget Week finale at Kokomo Speedway on June 11, the Bixby, OK, racer topped three of five POWRi Illinois Midget Week events this past weekend to land the POWRi Speedweek title.

McIntosh currently sits atop both POWRi and Xtreme Outlaw Midget points, pending the appeal of an Xtreme Outlaw penalty report released on June 24 regarding a tire that was deemed illegal at the May 25 event at Millbridge.

The hot streak for McIntosh that his pushed his win total for the season to six has moved him atop the Midget Power Rankings by 12 points over Buddy Kofoid, who has busied himself more so in the winged 410-ci Sprint Car ranks in the past pair of weekends.

Justin Grant is another 46 points back in third with Bryan Wiedeman in fourth while Brenham Crouch has jumped a handful of positions to fifth.

Thomas Meseraull is sixth, while Jacob Denney has jumped five positions to seventh with Kaylee Bryson, Mitchel Moles and Zach Daum filling out the current top ten.

Jade Avedisian, who became the first female driver to win a POWRi National event on Sunday night at Jacksonville, has climbed 13 positions to 23rd.

The Midget Power Rankings are a part of the Open Wheel Power Rankings that also includes STIDA Winged 410s, Non-Wing Sprint Cars and Rod End Supply Winged 360s.
