Lonnie Wheatley, BROKEN ARROW, Okla. (May 6, 2022) – Wantage, New Jersey’s Davie Franek has climbed to the top rung in the latest edition of the Rod End Supply Winged 360 Sprint Car Power Rankings.
Franek has posted five top-five finishes in USCS, URC and ESS competition over the past two weekends including four podiums to take the overall lead by just five markers over California shoe Justin Sanders. Among those four podiums was the second win of the year for the USCSC Winter Heat champion. Franek’s second win of the year came at North Alabama Speedway on March 19.
While Franek ranks as the only driver to post double-digit top-fives thus far, Sanders has scored four wins to hold down second while Ontario’s Dylan Westbrook climbed to third on the strength of wins at Attica and Crystal Motor Speedway on April 22-23.
Previous leader Mark Smith has slipped to fourth while Shane Golobic holds down fifith. After winning the 360-ci portion of Knoxville’s opener last weekend, Terry McCarl made a jump from tenth to sixth with Blake Hahn, Wayne Johnson, Sam Hafertepe, Jr., and Tanner Carrick filling out the current top ten.
