Mark Smith Holds Early Edge in Rod End Supply Winged 360 Sprint Car Power Rankings!

Lonnie Wheatley, BROKEN ARROW, Okla. (April 21, 2022) – It’s a battle of East versus West thus far in the 2022 edition of the Rod End Supply Winged 360 Sprint Car Power Rankings.

And currently Pennsylvania’s Mark Smith holds the early edge over California’s Justin Sanders for the top spot by virtue of his five wins opposed to Sanders’ four triumph as both have accumulated 160 points while matching each other in both top-fives and top-ten finishes.

Smith, who topped the 2020 edition of the Rod End Supply Winged 360 Power Rankings, notched his fifth win of the season in a URC tilt at Bloomsburg last Thursday to go along with USCS wins in Florida at Hendry County and a Southern Raceway (Milton) sweep as well an East Bay “King of 360s” preliminary score.

While Smith has run rampant along the eastern seaboard, Sanders has been hot in California with two wins at Placerville, including the SCCT season opener, with other “W’s” coming at Chico and Tulare.  Sanders has finished among the top ten in Rod End Supply Winged 360 Power Rankings five times over the past eight years including runner-up finishes in both 2015 and 2020.

With Smith and Sanders pacing the field early on, New Jersey’s Davie Franek is another 13 points back in third with Dylan Westbrook and Shane Golobic filling out the early top five.  Current ASCS points leader Wayne Johnson sits sixth with Sam Hafertepe, Jr., Tanner Carrick, Blake Hahn and Terry McCarl filling out the current top ten.
